Biofilm Test Coupons and Surfaces

The CDC Biofilm Reactor utilizes a standardized disc sample design. There are currently more than 40 surface materials, and custom materials may be available upon special request. These coupons are also compatible with the Coupon Evaluation Flow Cells, Treatment Imaging Flow Cell, Rotating Disk Reactor, and Bio-inLine Biofilm Reactor. Slide coupons are also available in limited materials.

The Drip Flow Biofilm Reactor uses a slide design modeled after standard microscope slides. BioSurface currently offers 14 standard materials in this microscope slide configuration, and can create custom slides upon request.

The Coupon Evaluation Flow Cell line of products (FC71, FC270, FC271, FC274, FC275) are offered with three different coupon configurations, allowing various types of studies. The three configurations include: 2 x CBR discs, 3 x 10mm discs, or 1 x rectangular coupon.

The Biofilm Annular Reactor was designed to mimic interior surface shear of water pipes. This reactor can hold up to 20 BAR slides, which are available in a variety of materials. These slides have a special angled edge to match the slot inside the reactor, which helps keep the slides in place during long duration experiments.
